In 2019, five partners from five different European countries have joined forces with a common objective. That is, contributing to improve the quality and efficiency of Vocational Education Trainning (VET).
The actions underway to achieve such goals are being carried out within the framework of the European project VET UP (Vet Up for The Excellence in Vocational Educations in Europe), co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme. The VET UP project works in favour of a higher quality of the Vocational Education Training, adapting it to the abilities required by the current labour market in order to boost employability, and increase and improve local employment opportunities.
2020 and 2021 have been difficult in terms of mobility. While the pandemic delayed the overcoming of many challenges that the society is currently facing, it defined new ways of communication and training.
Actions developed
Among the actions developed by the VET UP project, we can mention:
- Alzira study visit (Spain). Around 40 members of French and Bulgarian network established new contacts with Spanish members orientated towards new initiatives in the field of VET.
- Participation of Spain, France and Bulgaria in the organization of an event in the framework of 2020 European Skills Week.
- Development of a follow-up survey of the graduated students in order to improve the impact of the VET.
- Identification of four key skills currently required by the labour market.
- Design of Training programme and materials related to the four key competences identified.
- Launching of the first training Programme in Poland.
- Online Seminar “Cooperation and Networking: Promotion of Innovative Training Course” organized by the French partner. It introduced the good practices carried out by France with the attendance of more than 60 participants.
New Year Resolutions
In 2022, the VET UP project will come to its end with the training of trainers, broadening the number of teachers able to benefit from it thanks to the online format of its second course. Additionally, it will also take place over this year the Seminar organized by our Bulgarian partner. During this one, the good practices on development around the topics of professional training and employability will be presented. We will present the results of the evaluation of the training received by students on matters of professional training. Moreover, we will contribute to the 2022 European Skills Week from Spain, France and Bulgaria with activities to promote VET.
Now that this year is coming to an end, and hoping to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to both the Erasmus+ programme and our stockholders. Thanks for its cooperation and collaboration during these difficult times, key to success in the VET UP project.
