At present, many teachers are working in challenging contexts. Educators are setting ambitious goals for themselves in order to realize the introduced curricular frameworks and standards. Instructors are planning, implementing, and analyzing pedagogical practices that support and enhance student learning. To accomplish some of these goals, team work remains an effective pedagogical approach.
The perennial dilemma of teamwork persists. How do teachers make sure that they build an environment where students benefit from equal-status interactions with peers? One that has equal access to the learning tasks, material resources, and the educator? What they have to do to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate what they have learned and value their intellectual growth and contributions?
It is clear that students will need to work effectively with others to succeed in the future workforce. What teachers have to do is craft learning tasks that provide opportunities for students to engage in intense interactions as they talk and work together, to collaborate in producing team products, and to hone their academic and social skills.
